User Agreement

This agreement governs your use of Direct Logbook. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Your account

You must provide a valid email address when registering and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

The service

Direct Logbook is a digital record-keeping tool for pilot logbooks. It is currently offered free for personal use. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Your responsibilities as a pilot

Direct Logbook is a record-keeping aid, not a substitute for your regulatory obligations. You remain solely responsible for maintaining accurate flight records in accordance with CASA regulations and any other requirements that apply to you. Automated features — including EFL scanning, CSV import, and generated statistics — can make mistakes, and you should verify all extracted or calculated data before relying on it for currency, licensing, or compliance purposes.

Your data

You own the logbook data you enter or upload. By using the service you grant us permission to store and process that data as needed to operate the service — including sending EFL images you upload to Google Cloud Vision for text extraction. Our collection and handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

If you record information about other people (for example, crew member names), you are responsible for ensuring you are entitled to do so.

Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to access other users' data or any part of the service you are not authorised to use.
• Do not upload content that is unlawful, malicious, or infringes the rights of others.
• Do not interfere with or disrupt the service, or use it in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Do not use automated tools to scrape or bulk-extract data from the service other than the export features provided.

Availability and warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data extracted by automated tools will be accurate. Nothing in this agreement excludes rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including loss arising from inaccurate records, missed currency or licensing requirements, or loss of data. You should keep your own backups of important records, for example by using the export features regularly.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this agreement or abuse the service. You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account and data at any time.

Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised agreement.
